Dorothy S. Reiss (1932 – 2025)

Dorothy S. Reiss, 93, formerly of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Dock Terrace Nursing Home in Lansdale. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Gerald A. Reiss, who died on Jan. 30, 2016. Born in Hellertown on Feb. 23, 1932, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Smurda) Spisak. A devoted member of the Episcopalian faith, Dorothy embraced a life of kindness, creativity and unwavering support for her family and church community. She had a passion for flower arranging and crafts, often sharing her talents with those around her. A proud Philadelphia sports fan, she enjoyed cheering on the Phillies and Eagles throughout the seasons.

SURVIVORS

Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her son: Duane R. Reiss and his wife Lisa of Harleysville; her cherished grandchildren: Brooke, Joshua, Glenn, Christine and Trevor; and her precious great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Kole, Joelle, Chelsea, Cole and Melanie. She was predeceased by her son: Gary J. Reiss.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to a visitation period from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The visitation period will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
