Joan L. Miller, 72, of Allentown, died Monday, April 10, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at her residence after 1.5 years with cancer. She was the wife of Norman R. Miller, who died May 15, 2002. She was born in Springfield Township on Oct. 18, 1944 to the late Gustave Ernst and Mamie (Crist) Ernst.

Sons: David R. (Carolyn) of Pen Argyl and their children David and Jessica, Michael R., with whom she resided with his fiancée, Jeanette E. Frey; siblings: Barbara L. (Charles) Dederick of Huntington, Ind., Loretta L. of Allentown, Kenneth L. of Hatfield, Rachel R. Skoutelas of Bethlehem, Rosemary G. (Ronald S.) Washburn of Allentown, Roberta J. (Willard) Bader of Hilltown Township, Rebecca J. Carreras of Hilltown Township, Teresa M. Roncolato of Allentown, Joseph D. of Newtown, Conn., David L. (Elizabeth) of Allentown, Brenda L. (John Brader) Lepeta of Palmerton, Amanda L. (Richard) Rutkowski of Allentown. She was predeceased by a sister: Margaret A. in 1995.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Rittersville Cemetery, Allentown.
