Tidd Winner in District Judge Primaries

With 100 percent of the precincts in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township reporting their unofficial vote totals from Tuesday’s primary, cross-filed incumbent candidate, Magisterial District Judge for Northampton County District 03-2-04 David Tidd, is the unofficial winner in both the Democratic and Republican primaries, according to information posted on the Northampton County website.

According to the unofficial results, Tidd received 235 votes (38.78 percent) on the Democratic ballot.

His challengers on that ballot, David Repyneck and Amanda Kurecian, received 222 votes (36.63 percent) and 148 votes (24.42 percent), respectively.

On the Republican side, Tidd’s victory was more commanding.

According to the unofficial results posted by the county, he received 248 votes (44.85 percent) to Repyneck’s 190 votes (34.36 percent) and Kurecian’s 115 votes (20.8 percent).

The district judge seat includes a six-year term.
