The 50th anniversary of Northampton County Parks & Recreation Division's creation will be celebrated with a free event at Wayne A. Grube Memorial County Park in Northampton on Monday, June 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. The Greenways Jamboree Celebration will also recognize the 20th anniversary of the Lehigh Valley Greenways (LVG) Conservation Landscape Partnership and the 28th Annual Lehigh River Sojourn.
Lower Saucon Township residents and others had a chance to chat with the men who help keep their community safe during a "Coffee with a Cop" event held by the department at Giant on Rt. 412 Wednesday.
A number of municipalities and organizations throughout the area will be hosting observances this weekend, some of which were highlighted in a Northampton County news release Monday.
The Upper Saucon Township Police Department was recently invited to a special event held by the fourth grade class at Joseph P. Liberati Southern Lehigh Intermediate School in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Northampton County Executive Lamont G. McClure will give his State of the County address at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton on Tuesday, June 11.
The free event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations near the Saucon Rail Trail: Hellertown Historical Society's Heller-Wagner Grist Mill at 150 W. Walnut St., Hellertown, and the Saucon Valley Conservancy's Michael Heller Homestead at 1892 Friedensville Road, Bethlehem.
According to a Promenade Saucon Valley news release, "the event will be a fun-filled evening showcasing styles from several retailers, including American Eagle, Banana Republic, Chico’s, Francesca’s, J.Crew Factory, J. Jill, L.L. Bean, Lucky Brand, Soma, Sweet Diehl Boutique and White House Black Market."
The annual Safety & Health Expo will be held Thursday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in College Center Room 220 on Northampton Community College’s Main Campus in Bethlehem Township.
Enjoy live music, dancing and other fun Tuesdays in May from 10 to 11 a.m., weather-permitting.
The meetup will take place in the wide-open turf grass on the west side of Louise W. Moore Park, which is located at 151 Country Club Road, Easton.
