The free event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations near the Saucon Rail Trail: HHS’s Heller-Wagner Grist Mill at 150 W. Walnut St., Hellertown, and the conservancy’s Michael Heller Homestead at 1892 Friedensville Road, Bethlehem.

The event will feature educational activities, live animals, antique cars, food, carriage rides, walking tours, “Hellertown Through Time” presentations and more (a complete list of scheduled activities and locations appears below). Off-street parking will be available at both locations, including in Water Street Park, for visitors to the homestead. Overflow parking for the grist mill will be available in the Christ Lutheran Hellertown lot at 69 Main Street (see the maps below for directions on where to park). Guests are being encouraged to use the pedestrian crossing safety devices available at the traffic light at Walnut and Main streets, and if they are crossing Water Street near the park to reach the homestead.

Attendees should note that the Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse, which is maintained by the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society, will not be open for Heritage Day. Instead, LSTHS volunteers will be set up at the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill with educational activities and old-fashioned games for children, including a Maypole.
