A popular school rewards program sponsored by an area supermarket chain is back for the 2016-2017 school year.
Giant Food Stores announced Tuesday that their A+ School Rewards Program is back.
“With one swipe of their bonus card, customers can earn cash for local schools through the A+ School Rewards program at Giant Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets,” the company said in a news release. “Customers can sign up now to participate in the program and designate up to two local community schools for funds.”
GIANT said it has donated more than $25 million to hundreds of public and private schools since 2005.
“We’re committed to being a better neighbor, and our A+ School Rewards brings us together with our customers to help local schools,” said Giant President Tom Lenkevich. “Over the years, A+ School Rewards has helped build healthier school communities by funding educational programs, field trips, scholarships, playgrounds and more.”
Customers who designated schools last year do not need to re-designate their schools, but are encouraged to confirm their school’s ID by going to Giant’s A+ School Rewards website.
Customers do not need to have a child in school to support a school, as A+ School Rewards is open to everyone and customers can sign up to support a school outside of their local community in order to support a friend or family member’s school.
All registered schools will earn points from Oct. 7, 2016 through March 16, 2017.
