Saucon Valley Youth Wrestling ended 2014 on a high note by winning the 2014 Salisbury Holiday Invitational Tournament on Sunday.
In the opening round of the tournament, the Panthers soundly defeated Southern Lehigh 56-26. The second round had Saucon draw Salisbury and the Panthers did not disappoint by downing the hosts 66-12. Saucon saved their best for last, hammering Bethlehem Township 77-15 in the final match of the day.
Asked about his thoughts on the tournament, Saucon Valley head coach, Chris Csencsits observed, “We have a great group of athletes this year and they came to wrestle. They are learning, and trying what they are learning.”
Saucon Valley youth wrestling now looks ahead to opening 2015 with an away dual meet against Whitehall and East Stroudsburg in the Zephyrs’ gym on Sunday, Jan 4.
