A Drexel Hill, Delaware County man was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct, Hellertown Police said, after he allegedly “randomly approached” a woman with a toddler daughter at the gas pumps at Topstar Exxon, 1570 Main St., and accused her of following him.
In a news release issued Wednesday, police said that on Monday at about 10:45 a.m., Kyle Robert Kaniper, 42, of the 100 block of Bridge Road, screamed at the woman and accused her of having been hired by his ex-wife to “follow him all over.”
Police said Kaniper was unable to be identified through surveillance footage, and “only a vague” description was provided by the woman, who reportedly told them the man who’d approached her was driving a blue Pontiac with a Maryland registration.
Kaniper was ultimately apprehended when he pulled into the borough police station parking lot for an unrelated issue several hours later and officers recognized him from the vague description that had been provided earlier, police said.
