A Forks Township man has been charged with DUI after Lower Saucon Township Police say he drove on Easton Road earlier this month with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) that was more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

According to a police news release, Gustave Schwabe, 64, of the 1500 block of Waverly Avenue, was met by officers at 4:09 p.m. Sept. 8 after they were summoned to “a medical call where a male was found within his vehicle intoxicated.”

Police said they observed “signs of impairment” on Schwabe’s part and determined that he “was in operation of the motor vehicle while impaired.”

He was treated at a local hospital, police said, where his blood was drawn, tested and determined to have had a BAC of .25 percent.
