Lower Saucon Township Police said Friday they’re investigating the theft of a license plate from a car in Steel City.

In a news release police said plate GKN3133 was reported stolen off a 2002 BMW convertible that was parked at the far end of a driveway–against a hill and out of public sight–in the 4200 block of Lewis Avenue.

The car was disabled and had been parked there since approximately Aug. 25, police said.

The plate was discovered missing when the vehicle’s owner was taking it to be fixed Thursday, police added.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
