Saucon Valley Football Team Equipment Manager Kerry Kemmerer announced his second “Kerry’s Krunch” award winner sponsored by Main Street Gym live from Braveheart Highland Pub in Hellertown following the Panthers’ blowout victory over Catasauqua (55-0) Friday night.
The Panthers are now 4-0, after soundly defeating Bangor, Pen Argyl and Palmerton during the first two games of the regular season, and will face rival Southern Lehigh this week in what’s sure to be another exciting matchup.
“The defensive line has played fabulous,” Kemmerer said before naming his choice. “It’s hard to pick. It’s such a phenomenal team, it’s hard to pick one guy out.”
“This week it came down to…Zach Petiet ripped off a 60-yard run, and a huge stiff-arm at the end of the play. That’s what sealed it for me,” he announced (see video of the play that won Petiet the award, below).
Petiet (#23) had four TDs Friday night, an interception and rushed for 134 yards, Keith Riefenstahl reported during the live Facebook broadcast.
For being the Kerry’s Krunch Week 2 award winner he’ll receive a t-shirt from Main Street Gym.
