Driver Cited After Nearly Hitting Cruiser, Backing Into Other Car, Police Say

A Salisbury Township man was cited for several alleged motor vehicle violations after Lower Saucon Township Police say he backed into another car after nearly striking a marked township police car after traveling through a stop sign at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike Saturday.

A Salisbury Township man was cited for several alleged motor vehicle violations after Lower Saucon Township Police say he backed into another car after nearly striking a marked township police car after traveling through a stop sign at Seidersville Road and Old Philadelphia Pike Saturday.

In a news release issued Monday, police said Jefferey Edelman, 57, of the 1700 block of Church Road, was southbound on Old Philadelphia Pike at 12:25 p.m. when he stopped, backed up “and hit another vehicle that was stopped behind him at the stop sign.”

Police said there were no injuries and both cars were drivable after the accident.

Edelman was cited for a stop sign violation, Limitations on Backing and driving with a suspended license (DUI-related), police said.
