Hellertown loves a good parade, and this year’s Saucon Valley Spirit Parade is shaping up to be a great one.

Pitstop the Clown will again appear in the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade.

Pitstop the Clown will again appear in the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade.

The parade will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. (there is no rain date) and will feature a number of divisions filled with floats, marching bands, emergency service and police vehicles, clowns and more.

Parade chairman David Heintzelman has been regularly updating the Facebook page for the event with information about sponsors and commitments from groups and organizations that are planning to participate.

If you are interested in participating in the parade, the registration form can be downloaded from that page. The deadline to register is Oct. 15.

This year’s parade’s theme is the environmentally-aware mantra, “Reduce-Repurpose-Recycle.”

The lineup for the parade will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Saucon Valley School District campus, and roads along the parade route will be barricaded at 1:30 p.m.

The route is from the campus down Walnut Street to north on Main Street (Rt. 412) to east on Water Street to south on Rentzheimer Drive to east on Water Street to south on Constitution Avenue and back to the schools.

For more information about the parade, or becoming a sponsor, email David Heintzelman at da***@he***********.com or call 610-838-0521.

Saucon Source is proud to be a 2016 Spirit Parade sponsor.
