A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car on I-78 East in Lower Saucon Township Saturday afternoon resulted in injuries for the driver of the car and caused traffic backups in the area, according to reports.

The Morning Call reported that the crash occurred when a tractor-trailer driven by Rigoberto Reyes was pulling back onto the highway from the shoulder about three miles west of the Rt. 33 interchange, and a car driven by Barry Stem, 35, of Phillipsburg, N.J., struck the truck from behind along the shoulder of the highway.

The newspaper reported that Stem was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, and that a passenger–identified as 26-year-old Ashley O’Rourke, of Washington, N.J.–told authorities she and Stem were lost and that she was looking at her phone for directions and didn’t see the crash occur.
