Saturday, June 3 is the day of the Hellertown Community Yard Sale, the Saucon Creek Arts Festival and other local events that will attract visitors to the area. It’s also the day PennDOT says motorists should “expect significant delays” on I-78 East between the Hellertown (Rt. 412) and Rt. 33 exits between midnight and 6 p.m.

Most of that stretch of the interstate is located in Lower Saucon Township.

According to PennDOT, the delays will be sporadic and will be caused by lane restrictions for concrete slab repairs.

“Through traffic may wish to use U.S. (Rt.) 22 East to PA (Rt.) 33 South as an alternate route,” PennDOT said.

Motorists who do travel through the work zones that day should use caution.
