The Saucon Valley Panthers battled hard, but came up short in a shootout against the Notre Dame Crusaders on Friday night. A lot of points were scored in the 52-41 defeat, so there were many offensive fireworks. Of the 12 touchdowns tallied in the game, this 72-yard bomb was the longest.
On this pass play the Panthers break the huddle and get set in a “gun, trips left” formation. Chris Smith (#9) is the widest receiver at the bottom of the screen and gets man-press coverage with a Crusader defender in his face. After a little hesitation step, Smith works for an outside release, races down the sideline and receives a perfectly placed Alstan Wolfe pass in stride for a Panther touchdown.
Great Job Panthers, the Source is with you!
