It’s official. There is now a date for this year’s Trick-or-Treat in Hellertown borough.
After delaying a vote earlier this month to allow more time for public input, Hellertown borough council Monday night voted 4-3 to schedule Trick-or-Treat 2018 for Sunday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The beloved kids’ candy collection will be held a week after the annual Saucon Valley Spirit Parade, which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
There was little public input about Trick-or-Treat at the council meeting, although one person asked whether it could be held annually on Halloween (Oct. 31), as it is in some other communities, instead of on a weekend day.
Lower Saucon Township Council normally votes to schedule the township’s Trick-or-Treat so it occurs at the same time as Hellertown borough’s.
