Panther Play of the Week: “Sizzler” Hits 26-Power for 76 yards (Brought to You by Hellertown Bakery)

In their victory over Salisbury on Friday night, the Saucon Valley Panthers put up over 500 yards of  total offense.  Of course, with those types of stats there had to be quite a few big plays.  But, this play was so beautifully executed, that we figured it was worthy of this week’s recognition.

With Saucon Valley leading the Salisbury Falcons 35-27 in the 4th Quarter on Friday night, the Panthers wanted some insurance points.  Saucon was able to force the Falcons to punt on their previous possession, but the score was too close for comfort.

Ian “Sizzler” Csicsek lines up deep in the Panther backfield.  He takes the handoff from Dante Mahaffey and runs off-tackle for big yardage.  But, watch the design of the play.  Tight end, Patrick Morrissey will block down and collapse the left side of the Falcon defense. Meanwhile Christian “Mongo” Alling from his fullback position will “kick-out” Salisbury’s defensive end creating a running lane.  At the same time, Jared Harka will “pull” and lead Csicsek through the hole.  Coach Sams and staff couldn’t have drawn it up any better!

Check it out here as Ian gets 76 yards with a little help from his friends…….
