Francis V. ‘Frank’ Kostelnik, M.D., of Springtown, Bucks County, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Fellowship Manor-Whitehall after a long illness.
Frank was born in Bethlehem on Oct. 4, 1932 to the late Ignatius and Anna (Balik) Kostelnik. He was the husband of Elizabeth V. Steinbach-Kostelnik, M.D., for almost 54 years. He served our country faithfully as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Graduating from Moravian College in 1954, he went on to achieve his doctorate in medicine from Jefferson Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1958. After residency at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, he became the Director of the Pathology Department, a position he held for 35 years before retiring.
SURVIVORS
In addition to his wife, two sons: Kevin J. Kostelnik and his wife Susan of Hellertown and their children, son Kelsey and daughter Calla, and Keith Erik Kostelnik, M.D., and his wife Catherine, M.D., of Maine, and their two sons, Jack and Xander. Frank’s only brother George of Bethlehem also survives him. He was preceded in death by his four sisters: Helen, Irene and Annamae Kostelnik, RN, and Mary Aylward, all of whom resided in Bethlehem.
SERVICES
