On Friday night with their victory over the Palisades Pirates, Saucon Valley was able to snap a two-game losing streak. The Panthers, including the area’s leading rusher Ian “Sizzler” Csicsek, played all four quarters against the Pirates to seal the win. “Sizzler” had another monster night carrying the football and finds himself as the focus of this week’s Panther Play of the Week!
With just under a minute left to play and clinging to a seven point lead, Saucon Valley found themselves with a 4th & 2 at the 30-yardline. Palisades had no timeouts remaining and desperately needed a stop to have any hope of catching the Panthers. Two yards for a first down is all the Panthers needed to seal the deal.
Once again, the Panthers leaned on the counter-play that has been so good to them all of this season. Csicsek will fake to his left and come back to his right to take the handoff from Dante Mahaffey. Jared Harka and Tim Weaver escort Csicsek around right end. Not only does Csicsek get the 1st down, he gets a whole lot more!
