For lobster lovers in the Lehigh Valley, it’s time to celebrate. That’s because the popular seafood franchise Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is scheduled to open later this summer at the Promenade Saucon Valley in Center Valley.

The location will be the first in the area–and in all of Pennsylvania–for Mason’s, which is known for serving classic and other versions of the lobster roll; a type of sandwich that originated in Maine and is made with chunks of lobster meat and butter.

“Part of Mason’s appeal is the fast-casual restaurant environment that welcomes guests to an authentic Maine experience with taste-tantalizing lobster at fair prices,” a news release about the opening said. In addition to lobster rolls, Mason’s menu also features entrees, soups, sides, desserts, drinks and a children’s menu.

The restaurant will be located in a 1,500 square-foot unit next to Slime Time and close to the AMC multiplex movie theater at the west end of the shopping center. It will join other Promenade Shops eateries such as Top Cut, Melt, Torre, Kome Fine Japanese Cuisine, Red Robin and Turning Point. Other restaurants that are planned to open in the near future include The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill and Five Guys Burgers & Fries.

“Promenade Saucon Valley has made a number of significant changes in recent months, adding several new tenants, changing its name, and updating its seating, gazebo and signage,” said Promenade Saucon Valley’s vice president of leasing Jaclyn Palmeri, in a statement. “With the addition of yet another popular and highly coveted new restaurant, we’re elevating the experience our guests have while gathering and spending time at the center and making Promenade Saucon Valley one of the area’s most desirable shopping, dining and entertainment destinations.”

According to the news release, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls will be open daily for lunch and dinner.

Founded in 2014 by a former seafood buyer, the company currently has restaurants in 12 states and the District of Columbia, according to its website. The closest locations to the Lehigh Valley currently is in Long Branch, N.J. Other Mid-Atlantic locations include Rehoboth Beach, Del., Baltimore and Annapolis, Md. The current price of a classic lobster roll for dine-in customers at the Long Branch store is $22, while in Rehoboth Beach it is $23.50, according to online versions of the Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls menu.
