$500 Reward Offered in Sign Vandalism Case
Lower Saucon Township is letting the community know that it takes vandalism of its property seriously. On Friday, law enforcement and township officials announced a $500 reward that is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for vandalizing a township-owned Saucon Rail Trail sign twice in less than two months.

The sign adjacent to the Wagner-Holum Farmstead was first damaged on May 30. It was then restored, only to be vandalized again on July 17. In the July incident, gold spray paint was used to deface the sign with a swastika and other symbols.
Anyone with information about the person or persons responsible is being asked to contact Det. Sgt. Eric Marth at 610-625-8722 or submit a tip via LSTPD’s Crimewatch Tipline.
“Your assistance is crucial in helping us bring those responsible to justice,” township police said in a post on their Crimewatch site. “Your tips can make a difference in keeping our community safe and preserving our public spaces.”
The Wagner-Holum Farmstead is one of several township properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The sign that details the property’s history is located along the trail near the Meadows Road trail crossing.
The Saucon Rail Trail is a 7.5 mile walking, jogging and bicycle trail built on top of a former SEPTA rail line that opened in 2011. The trail stretches from Bachman Street in Hellertown south through Lower Saucon and Upper Saucon townships to Coopersburg, where it connects with the Upper Bucks Rail Trail.
