After the second and final day of the 2018 PIAA District XI AAA Track and Field Championships, the Saucon Valley Panthers, led by Talitha Diggs and Alstan Wolfe, once again found some tournament treasure. In total, Saucon placed seven Panthers on the 2018 District XI podium while crowning four champions.
Tuesday's adverse weather conditions that included a tornado-warning for the Lehigh Valley postponed the start of the 2018 District XI Track and Field Championships. Wednesday was tornado free at Whitehall High School, but the raw and rainy weather continued. Nonetheless, the athletes competed admirably and Day-One of the two day competition is now in the books.
Once again, Saucon Valley Middle School pays homage to Literacy Week.  For the entire week students and staff in the middle school participate in a variety of activities to celebrate and promote literature and reading. This year's headliner is scheduled to be author Caitlin Alifirenka.
Hosted by the Whitehall Zephyrs, Day-Two at the 2018 Colonial League Track and Field Championships was, for the most part, very good to Coach Kolosky and his Saucon Valley Panthers.
Unbeaten on the day but a little shy of the sweep, FC Steel, wearing their trademark orange uniforms, were out in force on Sunday as all four of their teams competed in the opening round of the 2018 Rock Spring League.
After last weekend's PIAA District XI wrestling tournament the Saucon Valley Panthers crowned three champions and advanced six wrestlers to compete in this weekend's regional tournament at Wilson West Lawn High School. Panther seniors Jason Jones (138) and Angelo Mahaffey (152) were joined by junior Josh Jones (126) and sophomores Thomas Spirk (145), Dane Csencsits (195) and Nick Warnke (285).
This weekend is the time for the Saucon Valley youth varsity wrestlers to compete in the Valley Elementary League (VEWL) Tournament. The Little Panthers had a good first day at Easton Area Middle School advancing five wrestlers to the semifinals and keeping five others alive in the consolation bracket. Sunday will be Day-Two of this tough tournament that consists of 32 teams throughout the entire Lehigh Valley. How many Panthers do you think will reach the podium?
Tuesday night the Lady Panthers made the trip north to take on the Spartans of Notre Dame East Stroudsburg. What started out as a tight and competitive game quickly evolved into a Panther rout. Saucon Valley seized the momentum and rode it home for a 50-26 victory.

The Saucon Valley wrestlers packed their overnight bags and traveled to Biglerville on Friday to compete in the Biglerville Canner Duals. Just outside of historic Gettysburg, the wrestling action started bright and early on Saturday morning. The Panther wrestlers showed few signs of travel-fatigue as they dominated the team tournament!
