Thefts from Vehicles Reported in Southeast Hellertown

Hellertown Police said Tuesday that they are investigating thefts from several unlocked cars that occurred late last week in the southeastern part of the borough. Police didn’t specify which streets were affected by the thefts, but the southeast quadrant is typically defined as the area east of Main Street and south of Water Street. In a news release, police said residents reported that the thefts occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday. Police are encouraging residents to lock their car doors. Recently there have also been thefts from unlocked vehicles reported in parts of Lower Saucon Township, including a neighborhood off Hickory Hill Road.

Hellertown Police Investigating Harris Street Car Break-Ins

Hellertown Police say they are investigating vehicle break-ins that occurred in the 700 block of Harris Street–an alley to the west of Main Street–on the night of Saturday, Feb. 7. In a news release issued Tuesday, police said the break-ins happened between 10 and 10:20 p.m.

All of the break-ins happened off the alley itself, at the rear of a property located in the 700 block of Main Street, police said. Anyone with information about these incidents should call borough police at 610-838-7040.
