Bridge Deck Repair on Rt. 412 Will Slow Traffic Friday Morning

Est. Read Time: < 1 min

“An unforeseen bridge deck repair” that must be made to the bridge across the Saucon Creek on Rt. 412 in Bethlehem will result in intermittent traffic stoppages Friday morning between 9 and 11 a.m., PennDOT announced Thursday.

According to a news release shared by the Borough of Hellertown on its Facebook page, “a single lane…will be maintained on (Rt.) 412 with intermittent stoppages controlled by flaggers from Shimersville Road to Commerce Center Boulevard.”

“Motorists can expect delays and should proceed through the work area with caution,” PennDOT said. “Alternate routes should be considered.”

Traffic in the area of the Saucon Creek bridge is already often problematic, due to the ongoing Route 412 widening project that is taking place between the area of the I-78 interchange in Hellertown and Daly Avenue in Bethlehem.
