If you love baseball and history, you’ll may want to mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 22, when a vintage baseball game will be played at 4 p.m. (gates will open at 3 p.m.) at the historic Limeport Stadium in Limeport, 1488 Limeport Pike, Coopersburg (Lower Milford Township).
A Lehigh Valley All-Stars/VIPs team will compete against the Mutual Baseball Club of New York in a game played according to the baseball rules of 1864, according to an event flyer posted online.
The game will be a fundraiser for the Lights for Limeport stadium lights replacement project, which seeks to raise $275,000 to remove an antiquated lighting system and install a new one at the stadium built in 1932.
Admission is $5 (requested donation).
Refreshments will be sold at the stadium’s concessions stand and free parking will be available.
