A household hazardous waste dropoff event for Northampton County residents will be held Saturday, Oct. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northampton Community College Main Campus, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem.
Residents who bring a photo ID or utility bill to verify their county residency will be able to drop off a variety of items such as pool chemicals, antifreeze, products containing mercury, fluorescent lights, propane, pesticides and tires (for a fee).
Latex paint will not be accepted.
Scrap metal items such as lawn furniture and dryers will be accepted for recycling, however electronics will not be accepted.
Household hazardous waste items brought to the dropoff should be packaged carefully to help prevent spills.
