Once again, Saucon Valley Dance Conservatory qualified for the Dance Explosion National competition in Wildwood, N.J. The competition was held July 11-16, 2016, and featured solo, duo, trio and group performances by conservatory students throughout the week and did an amazing job.
The following Saucon Valley Conservatory dancers won awards at the competition:
- Jr. Solo – Keira Fleming, Platinum and 3rd place high score
- Petite Duet – Natalie and Lilly Chambers, Extreme Gold and 3rd place high score
- Jr. Duet – Hailey and Keira Fleming, Platinum 1st place in division and 1st place high score
- Jr. Trio – Ava Dyer, Keira Fleming and Peyton Markle, Platinum and 8th place high score
- Teen Duo – Kaleigh and Ava Dyer, Platinum 1st place in division and 5th place high score
Teen Solos:
- Hailey Fleming, Platinum and 4th place high score
- Caitlin Kernick, Platinum 1st place in division and 2nd place high score
Senior Solos:
- Valerie Pena, Platinum 1st place in division and 1st place high score
- Meghan Fainor, Extreme Gold
- Payton Johnson, Platinum and 6th place high score
The Sapphire B group, “Something in the Water,” received a platinum and 4th place high score. Diamond A and B groups,“Respect” and “Brave,” both earned platinum and 1st place in each of their divisions. “Pink Panther,” the junior large group jazz team, also placed with a platinum.
All these group dances were chosen to compete in the Xccelerated Challenge, which was held Saturday, July 16, 2016. With tight competition, Diamond A–performing “Respect”–won fifth place in their division, and the Sapphire Team performing “Something in the Water” came out on top as the 12U Xcalibur Winners.
