PennDOT said in news releases that preparatory work for the final paving of the widened Rt. 412 will result in daytime delays due to intermittent traffic stoppages controlled by flaggers between Monday, Sept. 12 and Friday, Sept. 16.

The work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. between Cherry Lane in Hellertown and Commerce Center Boulevard in Bethlehem.

Between Commerce Center Boulevard and Daly Avenue in Bethlehem, the work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

PennDOT said motorists should consider utilizing alternate routes and drive through the work area with caution. Rain–if it falls–could also delay the work.

The $36 million project–which began in the spring of 2013–is expected to be largely completed by November.
