The Lower Saucon Township man who flipped his SUV in an Oct. 8 crash in the 1200 block of Seidersville Road will be charged with DUI, township police said in a news release Saturday.

Police had said earlier that Jason Siegfried, of the 2000 block of Springtown Hill Road, would be charged pending the results of blood tests taken after the crash; a crash in which they say his vehicle traveled 106 feet with its right tire off the road before striking a utility pole, flipping over and sliding an additional 73 feet on its roof.

The blood tests revealed Siegfried “was operating his blue Dodge Durango with a combination of drugs in his system,” police said Saturday, adding that an evaluation at the scene of the accident–where an officer reportedly noted signs of impairment–“determined (him) to be under the influence of an opiate.”

Siegfried, who was not injured in the accident, is being charged with “multiple” counts of DUI, police said.
