On Thursday, Nov. 17 Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region Inc. will present a $21,300 grant to the Hellertown Area Library in a public ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
The grant funded new teen and children’s areas within the library–which was extensively renovated in 2015–providing a special place for area youth to spend their time.
Stephanie Mindler, President of the Hellertown Area Library Board, will unveil the new teen and children’s area and accept the grant from James McIntyre, the owner/operator of the Hellertown McDonald’s. Community youth will also be present at the event to sign their name and favorite book on the library’s new mural.
The mural was completed by Hellertown graphic artist Emily Graf.
The project was supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency (grant funds are distributed by the Lehigh Valley Arts Council).
The Hellertown Area Library is a vision of The Hellertown Area Library Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing convenient educational, recreational and cultural resources and programs for the residents of Hellertown Borough and Lower Saucon Township.
The library is located at 409 Constitution Ave., Hellertown, Pa. In addition to their website, the library also maintains a Facebook page.
