UPDATE: Lower Saucon Township Police said Monday afternoon that the alleged package thieves had been taken into custody in Bethlehem. Charges are pending.
A group of package thieves who hit several upscale neighborhoods in western Lower Saucon Township late last week have also targeted neighborhoods in the city of Bethlehem and Freemansburg, township police said Monday.
A surveillance camera mounted outside a home in the city of Bethlehem captured imagery of the suspected thieves and their vehicle, which police believe to be a dark green 2000-20001 Honda Civic sedan with numerous stickers on its rear bumper.
The suspects in the case are described by police as three African-American men in the early to mid 20s.
In Lower Saucon Township, police said packages were stolen from outside homes on Woodfield Drive, Pleasant Drive and Majestic Overlook Drive Thursday morning, and they fear the group may return to snatch more packages if they’re not apprehended.
Anyone who sees the suspect vehicle is being asked by police to write down the registration number and is urged to call Lower Saucon Township police at 610-317-6110 or 610-759-2200.
