2 Men Found Squatting in Main Street Home Had Heroin, Police Say

Two men who were allegedly found squatting in a vacant home in the 1600 block of Main Street, Hellertown, were found in possession of suspected heroin and hypodermic needles, according to police and court records.

Two men who were allegedly found squatting in a vacant home in the 1600 block of Main Street, Hellertown, were found in possession of suspected heroin and hypodermic needles, according to police and court records cited in a Lehigh Valley Live story.

Floyd J. Burd, 38, formerly of the 300 block of Warren Street, Phillipsburg, and Michael C. Litchfield, 29, no address available, were reportedly found sleeping on makeshift beds on the floor and were arrested early Thursday after a resident told police there were squatters in the home, according to court records cited in the story.

Burd is charged with felony criminal trespassing, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to county court records.

Litchfield is facing the same charges, according to court records.

Burd was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail and  Litchfield was committed to the prison in lieu of $7,500 bail, the records indicate.

Preliminary hearings in both men’s cases are scheduled for early next month.
