Saucon Valley has certainly established itself as having a top-notch wrestling program that is recognized throughout the great state of Pennsylvania and beyond. The program is led by the guidance and efforts of the Saucon Valley Wrestling Club. The Club serves all wrestlers in Kindergarten through Grade 12. It is the hope of Coach Shirk and the Wrestling Club that Little Panther wrestlers will, one day, grow up to be Big Panther wrestlers!
The youth program consists of Novice, Junior Varsity and Varsity wrestlers who compete in the Valley Elementary Wrestling League (VEWL). The VEWL consists of 36 teams that are divided into six divisions. The League includes teams from throughout the Lehigh Valley, Quakertown and the Poconos. K-6 wrestlers from Saucon Valley participate in the North Central Division which is also the home of Stroudsburg, Parkland Red, Southern Lehigh, Easton Saints and East Stroudsburg.
The Little Panthers generally wrestle every weekend during the season. Last weekend they travelled to Lehighton for league contests against Lehighton, Pleasant Valley and Emmaus Gold. It was a good day for the Panthers as they were able to improve to a 6-1 overall record.
