Police Issue 47 Traffic Citations to Aggressive Drivers in July

Lower Saucon Township Police announced Thursday that five aggressive details they conducted in July resulted in 47 traffic citations being issued to motorists.

Lower Saucon Township Police announced Thursday that five aggressive details they conducted in July resulted in 47 traffic citations being issued to motorists.

The traffic citations were issued for the following alleged violations:

Maximum Speed Limit Violation – 23
Red Light Violation – 7
Texting and Driving – 1
Obedience to Traffic Control Devices – 1
Stop Sign Violation – 1
No Passing Zone Violation – 1
Financial Responsibility Required – 1
Driving Under Suspension – 4
Expired Inspection – 2
Expired Registration – 5
Failure to sign registration card – 1

The ongoing aggressive driving enforcement by township police is a part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, which is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and National Highway Transportation Administration (NHTSA).

Municipal police agencies that participated in last year’s campaign wrote 44,610 aggressive driving related citations, including 27,017 for speeding, police said.
