Bald Eagle Spotted Near Saucon Rail Trail in Hellertown

Marlene Fudge of Lower Saucon Township said she was driving down Walnut Street in Hellertown near the Saucon Rail Trail Crossing when she spotted the United States’ majestic national bird perched high in a tree Saturday.

They do exist in the Saucon Valley…. Bald eagles, that is.

Marlene Fudge of Lower Saucon Township said she was driving down Walnut Street in Hellertown near the Saucon Rail Trail Crossing when she spotted the United States’ majestic national bird perched high in a tree Saturday. She was able to take this photo of the eagle.

Bald eagle sightings in the area are not completely unheard of, as the bird has expanded its habitat in recent years as its population has increased throughout North America.
