As a building that housed a popular local restaurant for more than a decade, the fate of the former Sagra Bistro at 620 Main Street in Hellertown has been a hot topic of conversation around the downtown lately.

The restaurant and bar closed earlier this month and the building, along with Sagra’s liquor license, is currently for sale for an undisclosed amount.

When the closing was announced Aug. 1, owner Robyn Cavallaro said she was working closely with prospective buyers for both the restaurant and a coffee shop she owned in South Bethlehem which also closed.

The real estate listing for the property at 620 Main Street notes that the building is “located in the heart of Hellertown” and includes a walk-in cooler, a 100-seat restaurant, two restrooms and 12 parking spots.

Several other restaurants are located nearby, including Braveheart Highland Pub, Ella’s Ristorante & Pizzeria and the recently-opened Wings on Main Sports Bar and Grille.

The Sagra Bistro property is located in the borough’s Town Center zoning district, in which a variety of commercial uses are permitted.
