Do you have a pile of old TVs, remote controls and other miscellaneous electronic “junk” that’s taking up space in your house, and you’re unsure how to dispose of it?
If so you’ll probably want to mark your calendars for Saturday, Aug. 1, when a free electronics recycling event will be held in the rear parking lot of Heintzelman Funeral Home on Main Street in Hellertown from 9 a.m. to noon (entry to the event will be from 301 Front St., behind the funeral home).
The e-recycling event is being sponsored by Heintzelman Funeral Home and Cheyenne Reiman of Coldwell Banker Hearthside, Realtors, and will be conducted by Responsible Recycling Services (RRS).
Select items–such as tube TVs and air conditioners–will be accepted for recycling for a fee. Fees for these items are listed on an event flyer (see below), which also lists the items that can be recycled for free.
Payment must be by cash or check, and checks should be made payable to Responsible Recycling Services (or RRS).
Prepared hoagies will be available for purchase as part of a hoagie sale in support of the Saucon Valley Spirit Parade, which is held in October.
