Copper Taken from First Avenue Home, Police Say

Hellertown Police are investigating a theft of copper from a home in the 1400 block of First Avenue.gland-485040_1280

According to a news release issued by the department Wednesday, the majority of the home’s copper plumbing was removed from the basement sometime between Dec. 24, 2014 and June 8.

The incident is being investigated as a burglary, and anyone with information about it is asked to call Hellertown Police at 610-838-7040.

On Tuesday, in an unrelated case, Lower Saucon Township Police announced charges against a Steel City woman who’s accused of stealing copper from vacant apartments in her building in the 2100 block of Riverside Drive.
