Albert Palik, 94, of Lower Saucon (Obituary)

Albert Palik, 94, of Lower Saucon Township, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 at Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of the late Evelyn A. (Weirback) Palik. He was born in Bethlehem on Dec. 28, 1920 to the late Joseph Palik and Julia (Kline) Holitz (and her late husband: Robert). Albert served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Bethlehem and Lehigh Valley for 30 years until retiring. Albert was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post 397, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS

Daughter: Dianne M. (Henry L.) Trumbower of Ridgewood, N.J.; son-in-law: Michael J. (Carol A.) Maurer of Coopersburg; four grandchildren: Christopher, Tami, Katrina, Kristen; nine great-grandchildren: Justin, Ashley, Benjamin, Victoria, Rachel, Shawn, Samantha, Michaela, Alexa; faithful caregiver: Donna. He was predeceased by daughter: Cynthia J. Maurer; and siblings: Anthony, Joseph, Clara and Mary.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
