When I was 17 years old playing high school football I imagine I would have had trouble trying to catch and tackle Evan Culver on the football field. As a 48-year-old Saucon Source sports reporter, Evan proved to be just as elusive. Despite my efforts to pursue Evan and wrap him up (for an interview), like so many other would-be tacklers I missed him. Nonetheless, Evan’s record-setting accomplishments deserve recognition.
The 2015 football season has rewarded Evan with All-League, All-Area, mcall.com Player of the Year and All-State honors. Along the way to these great achievements, Evan has also become part of the Panther record books. The 2015 season brought Evan the following Saucon Valley school records.
The Season Rushing Record (2,934 yards)
The Career Rushing Record (4,937)
The Single Season Touchdown Record (48)
The Career Touchdown Record (75)
The Single Season Total Points Scored Record (292)
The Career Total Points Record (470)

No doubt, as he has done so often, Evan would justify his successes by recognizing the hard work of his teammates. Whether it be the Hogs, his fullback or his receivers stalk-blocking down field, Evan’s obvious appreciation for their efforts runs deep.
A special Saucon Source salute goes out to record-setting rusher Evan Culver. He is one of the many great pieces that led to the success of the distinguished 2015 Saucon Valley Panthers football program.
Good luck Evan with all of your future endeavors! The Source is with you.
