Monster Weekend for Saucon Valley Wrestling!

Aside from possibly hitting the Powerball lottery, the weekend could not have been any better for Coach Chad Shirk and the entire Saucon Valley wrestling program. All three levels of the program (high school, junior high and youth) showcased dominating performances at different tournaments throughout the state.

Saucon Valley High School goes 5-0 at the Juniata Duals

Aside from hitting the Powerball lottery, the weekend could not have been any better for Coach Chad Shirk and the entire Saucon Valley wrestling program. All three levels of the program (high school, junior high and youth) showcased dominating performances at different tournaments throughout the state.

The Saucon Valley high school team went 5-0 on Saturday to win the Juniata Duals. The Panthers are now 13-0 for the season, and they knocked off Newport and Huntingdon, who were previously undefeated.

Saucon Valley High School won:

59 – 9 over Philipsburg Osceola
55 – 18 over Selinsgrove
63 – 18 over Penns Valley
60 – 15 over Newport
36 – 33 over Huntingdon (Championship Final)

Saucon Valley Junior High wins the Schuykill Valley Tournament

The Junior High wrestling team won the team title at the Schuylkill Valley Tournament this past weekend.

1st Place winners: Bailey Malick, Carlos Ortiz and Jarret Hirschbeck

2nd place winners: Kevin Dyer, Thomas Spirk and Jared Harka

3rd place winners: Matt Moran, Dane Csencsits, Braydyn Lugardo and Nick Warnke

5th place winner: Cole Schreck

Saucon Valley Youth goes 5-0 to win McCaskey Duals

Saucon Valley Youth goes 5-0 to win the McCaskey Duals

The undefeated Saucon Valley youth wrestlers, after defeating Pocono Summit 71-15 on Saturday in a league contest, traveled to Lancaster to participate in the McCaskey Invitational Duals. The “little” Panthers were great ambassadors for the program, crushing all opponents.

Saucon Valley Youth won:

76 – 13 over Oxford

60 – 9 over Norchester

74 – 12 over Spring Grove

69 – 18 over J.P. McCaskey

66 – 9 over New Oxford (Championship Final)

C’mon out and catch the Panthers!

Saucon Valley high school and junior high have a busy week. Tonight the Panthers are back to Colonial League competition at Bangor, and then home on Thursday to take on Catasauqua. Saturday, Saucon hits the road again and travels to Pen Argyl for a Saturday evening showdown with a feisty Green Knight squad. The hometown Panthers are chasing a fourth consecutive Colonial League title.

The Panther youth team has a date with the Pen Argyl youth program on Sunday in a VEWL league matchup.
