Joan R. Shook, 84, formerly of Hellertown, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at Country Meadows, Bethlehem.
She was the wife of the late Gerald Alvin Shook and Ernest R. Fetzer. She was born in Hellertown on Dec. 24, 1931 to the late Elmer C. and Grace L. (Laubach) Reichard. She had worked in the Classified Department of the former Bethlehem Globe-Times for several years. Joan was a member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, Hellertown, where she had taught Sunday School.

Children: Jeffrey E. Fetzer of Mt. Holly, N.J., Constance F. (Stephen) Donchez of Bethlehem, Larry A. (Anne) Fetzer of Grand Island, N.Y., Susan E. Shook of Hellertown; siblings: Rodney E. (Carol) Reichard of Hellertown, Dennis B. (Susan) Reichard of Ellicot City, Md., Judith Staats of Hellertown, Karen I. Ruch of Hellertown, Linda R. (Robert O.) Buck of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings: Marilyn Diefenderfer, Fay Fetzer, Harry L. Reichard.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at noon. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
