A student at Saucon Valley High School “was in possession of narcotics” Wednesday, interim prinicpal Ken Napaver told parents in an email Wednesday afternoon.

According to the email, “all students that may have had information or came in contact with the student were questioned, searched and released to their parents.  No one was hurt or in any danger.”

“The local authorities were contacted and are dealing with this matter,” Napaver added. “Also, appropriate disciplinary measures have been taken in accordance to School Board Policy.”

Parents with questions about what happened are encouraged to contact Napaver’s office.

“As always, the safety of students is our foremost concern,” he said. “We have many procedures and policies in place to maintain a safe environment for all students.”

Neither the identity of the student nor the type of narcotics he or she allegedly possessed were described in the email, and it was not immediately clear if the student will be facing charges.
