On the second day of honoring Panther football record holders, Saucon Source gives to you, Ryan Meyers.
Playing offensive and defensive line for the Panthers, Ryan wore #74. He is listed at 6’2”, 270. “Rhino” is and will forever be one of the famed Hogs who fought hard in the trenches to help control the line of scrimmage. Ryan earned 1st Team Colonial League honors as an offensive guard and 2nd team All-League as a defensive end.
He was an outstanding offensive lineman, but it was through his defensive efforts that he made his biggest mark for the Panthers. This past season Rhino had 18 tackles and 16 assists. Eight of those tackles were for a loss. Ryan Meyers is part of the Saucon Valley High School football record books. His 5 career quarterback sacks are good enough for 7th all-time.
Who’s #1 in QB sacks in a career? Mike Kane (2012-2015) is credited with 12 sacks in his Saucon Valley Panther career.
Ryan said it: “My best Saucon football memory was when we beat Bethlehem Catholic en route to being 14-1 and state semi-finalists.”
Coach Sams said it: “Ryan Meyers is exactly what you want from a football player. He is scary-good because not only is he a hard worker, but he also has talent to go with that work ethic!”
Congrats Ryan, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
