Lower Saucon Township Police said a Doylestown school bus driver was cited for careless driving after he allegedly caused an accident on Rt. 378 Thursday morning.

In a news release Saturday, police said Roger Jacobs, 65, of N. Worthington Road, was northbound on Rt. 378 near Frederick Street in an area where two northbound lanes merge to form one at around 7:45 a.m.

“Roger was in the right lane and another vehicle was in the left,” police said. “The vehicle in the left was ahead of the bus by a little, thus, giving it the right of way.”

Police said as the cars merged, “they collided sides.”

Police didn’t say if there were any students on the bus at the time of the accident, or which bus company or school district Jacobs is employed by.
