Crash at Water, Front Streets Disrupts Friday Evening Rush Hour

A crash at around 5 p.m. at W. Water and Front streets in Hellertown caused traffic backups in the area Friday afternoon, just as the evening rush hour was getting under way.

Police were quickly on the scene of the accident and helped direct traffic around it.

The accident appeared to involve a white pickup truck and a grey sedan.

A nearby bystander reported that the accident could be heard from Water Street Park, which is half a block away from the intersection.

There was no information immediately available about whether anyone was injured as a result of the crash.
