Howard F. Ganssle, 91, of Lower Saucon Township, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Arden Courts of Old Orchard, Bethlehem Township.

Howard F. Ganssle, 91, of Lower Saucon Township, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Arden Courts of Old Orchard, Bethlehem Township. He was the husband of Dorothy Irene (Beil) Ganssle. He was born in Freemansburg on May 16, 1926 to the late Joseph F. and Mary Cecelia (Nicholas) Ganssle. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. New York. He was a bricklayer at the former Bethlehem Steel for 41 years until retiring in 1988. Howard was a faithful member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, Colesville, where he volunteered, assisted with the funeral masses and was a member of the Holy Name Society.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 68 years; children: Edward P. (Christine) of Carlisle, Jane I. (Robert) Ronyack of Bethlehem, Patrick N. (Lucyna) of Bath, Dennis R. (Theresa) of Bethlehem; siblings: Joseph “Fred” of Bethlehem, Marie Applegate of Perkasie, Audrey (George) Cawley of Hellertown; grandchildren: Dana, Dustin, Loren, Kristi, Jessica, Jason, Chad, Amber; great-grandchildren: Declan, Paige, Keaton, Paul, Chase. He was predeceased by son: baby Howard Ganssle; siblings: Ralph, Helen Adamick, Eldon, Raymond, Wesley and Regina.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, Colesville. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Military Honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397.
