Angeline Maria Donchez Quinn, of Bethlehem and Avalon, N.J., passed away June 26, 2018. Angie was the beloved wife of B.T. Jude Quinn, Esq., with whom she shared 39 years of marriage prior to his death in June of 1998. A loyal native of Bethlehem, Angie was the daughter of Julius F. and Angeline Belletti Donchez. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1952 and received her BA from Moravian College and her MA from Lehigh University. Angie initially taught elementary school in the Bethlehem Township school district. She continued her teaching career as “Mrs. Quinn” in the Upper Merion School District, having married Jude, a third-year Villanova law school student. These were their halcyon days, living on love and forging friendships that lasted for decades. Angie retired from teaching shortly before the birth of her first child, as she and Jude returned to the Lehigh Valley to raise their family. With her sociability, educational background and seemingly infinite energy, Angie was involved in many civic organizations. She served as President of the Women’s Council of the Bethlehem Boys’ Club, volunteered for the Ladies’ Aid Society and Saucon Valley School District PTA, and was on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Guidance Council. In the latter capacity, Angie co-chaired the annual Bridge Day fundraiser for many years, combining her passion for children’s causes with her love of bridge. An avid bridge player, Angie was a member of several bridge clubs as well as Saucon Valley Country Club. She was a proud Villanova and Notre Dame parent and loved visiting the campuses, even after her children had graduated. She enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to returning to her summer home in Avalon, N.J. Angie had been a parishioner of Assumption of the BVM Church for 51 years.
