A Scranton man is charged with two felonies as a result of what Lower Saucon Township Police say was a home improvement scam he allegedly perpetrated on a resident of the 3700 block of Wilhelm Road in May.

Edward Humphrey, aka Edward Vadala, aka ‘Fast Eddy,’ is accused of perpetrating home improvement scams on residents throughout the Lehigh Valley area.

In a news release issued Wednesday, police said Edward Leonard Humphrey, 47, identified himself as “Edward Vadala from A1 Construction” when he allegedly took a $6,000 downpayment for a siding replacement job from a resident who also signed a contract with him.

“After several months no work was completed, however the $6,000.00 check was cashed,” police said.

“Through investigation it was learned that Vadala’s real name was Edward Humphrey and he was not working for A1 Construction,” authorities added.

Humphrey is charged with three counts of Felony 2 Home Improvement Fraud and one count of Felony 3 Theft by Deception, according to police.

Humphrey’s nickname–widely been reported in local media–is “Fast Eddy,” and he’s previously served time in state prison for defrauding a Lehigh Valley couple in a contractor-type scam, Lehigh Valley Live reported Wednesday.

Humphrey is also accused of taking $17,000 from a Bethlehem Township man in May of this year for another home improvement project that was never completed, and he is charged in another similar case in Bethlehem Township, the news website reported.
